Revolution Ultra Blush Sugar and Spice Review

I'm 22 and I've just started wearing blusher. Is that weird? I think I was scared of using it in the past because I didn't want to look bright pink. I've managed to find the right balance now, and realised that it can actually look really cute and can add the finishing touches to a makeup look.

Revolution are a brand I've bought from a few years, their products are normally very high quality and excellent value. I find a lot of their makeup to be higher quality than some high end brands. Previously I have bought a lot of their eyeshadow palettes and loved them.

There is a really nice variety of shades, from natural nudes to cute peach and stand out shimmery lilac and pink shades.

SWATCHES

They are all gorgeous colours and highly pigmented. By far the stand out shade is the lilac one, the colour is beautiful and it is also quite unique. The shades can also be mixed together very well. However, some of them are a little too dark and bold for me to wear regularly.

FINAL VERDICT

I think this is a great palette, I absolutely love most of the shades apart from a few which are a bit too dark. Will definitely be using regularly, and is a great price at £6.00.
Have you ever used this palette? What other products are you loving at the moment?

5 Beauty Essentials For August

This year I've really decluttered my makeup collection and only really kept the products I use on a regular basis and that I really love. During lockdown I've worn way less makeup, and my skin has thanked my for it. I've also started trying to stick to skincare routine. I'm never going to be an MUA, but I can just about put makeup on my own face and I've really learnt what products work for me.
So, here's what products I recommend for August...

NYX worth the hype mascara

This has been my go to mascara for quite a while. If you want a lengthening mascara that gives you luscious long lashes this is amazing. With a couple of coats it looks almost as good as false lashes! It also makes your lashes look beautifully natural and isn't gloopy at all.

NYX white eyeshadow base

If you want your eyeshadow look to stay put all day and all night, I couldn't recommend this enough. This also helps the colour of the eyeshadow to stand out. This is a must product, I can't apply eyeshadow without it now.

Revolution matte base foundation

During lockdown, I realised I don't actually need to wear foundation every day. However when I do wear it, this is my go to. This foundation also comes in a huge range of inclusive shades to suit every skin tone. This provides amazing coverage and is a bargain at just £5!

Simple triple protect moisturiser SPF 30

We've had a lot of warm weather at the moment so I was looking for an SPF moisturiser to protect my skin whilst working all the day in the sun. My skin can get quite dry from time to time so this gives it some much needed moisturiser. This is also a great product for sensitive skin, I personally find that some face moisturisers are to heavy and harsh on my skin.

NYX micro brow pencil

Beauty salons have been closed most of the year due to lockdown, and in that time I have established that I am absolutely terrible at doing my own eyebrows. Horrendous. I'm always very nervous about using product on my eyebrows as I'm worried it will go terribly wrong. However, this product isn't too dark and always really tops of my makeup looks.

And my makeup bag...

What's In My Pared Down Makeup Bag?

Hi babes,
I have recently a big spring clean in my room (I know it's June, but it's hardly sunbathing weather so I've decided it's actually Spring still.) In the process I've deluttered my makeup collection so I've only got more essential makeup items. Here is a look into my new pared down makeup bag, please let me know what

Eyeshadow Palette
NYX Ultimate Eyeshadow Palette - Brights
If you love creating bright eyeshadow looks, this palette is perfect. The shades are so vivid and gorgeous. There is a lovely mix of matte and shimmery shades which are very easy to blend into each other. NYX makeup is always very pigmented and the eyeshadows in particular and are very high quality so you can't go wrong.

Make-up Brushes
H&M Multi-coloured makeup brushes, £9.99
After 21 years on this planet, it came to my attention that I should probably have a decent collection of makeup brushes, and applying eyeshadow with my finger doesn't really create a great look. (Obviously I still do it though. I would never make it as a beauty guru, let's face it.) I'm a huge sucker for anything mermaid themed or shiny, I literally can't not buy these things. These brushes are not only super pretty but great for every day use, just as good as more expensive brands.
Foundation, Powder and Concealer
MUA Pro Base Concealer, £2.50
NYX Can't Stop Won't Stop Foundation, £15.00
NYX Stay Matte But Not Flat Powder, £5.50
A strong base is very important. I normally start my makeup with concealer to cover up the marks on my face and my occasional pimples. Plus I look permanently tired, so I use a decent amount of concealer on my dark under eye circles. (if you saw me at my work you'd understand.) then apply foundation and powder to complete the base.
Lip Product
I'm not really big on lipstick and normally just stick to lip balm apart from special occasions. But it's always good to have one good lip product in your makeup bag. Shockingly, this product is also from NYX!! Can someone please tell me there are other makeup brands out there.
I almost forgot to mention, my makeup bag is part of the Triple Glammy bag set from Soap and Glory. This is personally my favourite one from the collection.

The Fashion Femme Summer Wishlist

Hi Babes,
If you still remember who I am, great! Second year of uni has been taking over everything at the moment. Studying a fashion degree the workload is pretty tough, so unfortunately I've had to abandon my little blog which has been such a shame, a lot of things haven't gone things haven't gone this year how I had planned them to go but hey ho.

I've made a little wishlist for summer, okay, it's technically still April, but it's definitely not too early to start getting excited for summer! I have a feeling Summer 2019 is going to be a good one.

- Missguided Honey Bunny Top
I'm currently obsessed with anything with stripes. I love the pink and white stripes on this top, whilst it's a crop top and would look in sunny days, you can add layers too it for chillier days.

- Missguided Light Wash Blue Skirt
Denim skirts are an ESSENTIAL for summer, and I definitely don't have enough of them! I love light wash blue denim and the moment, it looks amazing with a summer tan.

- England Women's Away Kit Shirt
As you may know if you follow me on twitter, I'm a huge supporter of women's football, and the women's world cup is coming up this summer! When the world cup away kit (the first kit specially designed for the women's team, fyi.) was announced, I wasn't sure of it at first, but now I'm obsessed. I love the pretty subtle roses design. I think once I'd seen Lucy Bronze in this shirt, I realised it was actually cute. Side note, I will be getting this in a children's size, the adults sizes are way too expensive!

- NYX Ultimate Edit Eye shadow Palette
I'm on the look out for a new eyeshadow palette, and you can't really go wrong with NYX, all their eyeshadows are so pigmented and very high quality. And their stuff is so reasonably priced as well, can't recommend them enough. This is simple palette but all the shades are so bright and pretty!

- Pretty Little Thing Pink Holographic Rain Mac
I've wanted one of these for ages, the colours are just so shiny and pretty! You can never rely on the British weather, so it's always handy to have a rain mac, too.

- Simple Biodegradable Face Wipes
As someone who has very sensitive skin, Simple products are basically the only skincare products I can use at the moment. Recently I have become a lot more conscious of the environment and how face wipes are actually very damaging to the environment. I'm hoping to test these out as they are made from more sustainable materials.

- Boohoo Holographic Scrunchie
I love pretty scrunchies, and as you can probably tell I'm a sucker for anything holographic.

Summer Beauty Essentials On A Budget

Hi babes, I don't know about everyone else, but I always get so excited during the summer months about new makeup and beauty products. (and er, in the winter months.) However, this can get very expensive, so I'm going to be showing you some amazing value products to update your look. Superdrug and Primark are my new best friends, and they actually have some very high quality products! This weather has been forcing me out of the house more so I've been trying more creative makeup looks.

Faking it

Recently I've been wanting up my tanning game, and I'm not saying it's because of Love Island, but it probably is. Don't really This medium tan lotion from Superdrug is honestly the best fake tan I have ever used, and it is a bargain priced at £3.29. Plus, all Superdrug's own brand products are cruelty free and vegan! Nothing's better than a tan with a bikini, especially a white and turquoise bikini like this one from New Look.

Eye roll

I really rate Collection as a budget beauty brand, the majority of their products do exactly what they say on the tin and are excellent value. My current go to mascara is Collection's Lash Surge, it is highly volumising so you can go and bat your eyes at someone! It is priced at £4.99 from Superdrug. For eyeliner, I go for Soap and Glory's Supercat mascara, which is a bit pricer at £6.50. However it is well worth investing in as your eyes are usually the first thing someone notices about you, so it's good if your eyeliner makes an impact!

To add a bit of sparkle to your eyes, definitely use one of Barry M's holographic eyeshadow to a base of light pink of nude eyeshadow. They are £4.99 from Superdrug or Barry M's website.

Shimmer and Shine

Glitter is the perfect way to update your makeup look and make you stand out. I tend to go for the brightest colours of glitter that I can find, usually pink, blue and purple. It also looks cute to coordinate your glitter with eyeshadow looks, or have a complete contrast! Whichever way you wear your glitter, you will look amazing. Barry M do pots of glitter for £4.99 each.

I've worn Barry M (hmm, think there might be a theme to this post) nail paint for years, but recently the limited edition collection has really caught my attention. Iridescent shades of nail polish is just my favourite thing, ever.  The limited edition Nail Paints are priced at £3.99 each.
